Ever since I was a kid, writing was my outlet. Sometimes, I would climb my favorite tree and take my journal with me and sit up in that tree and write. I would write journal entries, poems, short stories, you name it.
Sometimes I would change the lyrics to songs Weird-Al style. I would make up raps and perform them for my siblings or friends or sometimes just to entertain myself, beatboxing and all. Granted, it was sub-par beatboxing at best, but it was an added flair that tended to garner laughs. And being the youngest of seven kids, oftentimes getting caught-up in the mix and hardly noticed, those laughs – or any attention at all – was motivating.
I’m stoked to be a part of Lodge Cove Collective, and I look forward to collaborating on more songs, in the future.
